Chalke History Festival 2026

We spent a great (and very hot!) week in the Wiltshire countryside at the end of June, at the Chalke History Festival.

Despite the heatwave, we had a great time talking to people about Escape From Pompeii and all things history. Thank you to everyone who braved the heat to come and see us. We’re glad that Escape From Pompeii was exciting enough to distract you from the 35°C tent!

It was great to meet so many history lovers, and we were happy to see some brilliant Pompeii- and ancient-history-themed talks and events. We saw talks by the legendary Mary Beard and Dr Jess Venner, we saw a reconstruction of the very same Pompeiian thermopolium from Escape From Pompeii, and we were complimented on our tunics by some wandering Romans.
